Vietnam Women's Day: Celebrating the Role of Women in Development

Women animal health workers receive training on USAID project.

On October 20, Vietnam marks national Women's Day. We join in this commemoration to highlight the crucial role women play in advancing development across the country. With expanded opportunity, they can increase agricultural production, improve health conditions in families, adapt better to natural disasters and droughts, and serve as leaders at local, provincial and national levels. We salute the women of Vietnam for your many achievements. We stand by you - USAID understands that the exclusion of women and girls from economic, political and social life is the greatest barrier to advancement, and is incorporating this lesson into our work by targeting gender equality and female empowerment.
